New Zealand Immigration system provides facilicites to individuals who wish to join there family members living in New Zealand on permanent basis. Below are the two categories for these:
Family Permanent ResidencePartnerThe partner of a New Zealand resident is allowed to live in New Zealand and start a new enjoyable life. The resident should meet the requirements of an eligible sponsor. The sponsor must also provide the evidence of the immigration status in New Zealand.
Dependent ChildA child whose parent(s) are already settled in New Zealand can apply for visa under this category. The applicant is required to show the evidence of the parent’s immigration status and mutual relationship. A child of age 17 to 24 is required to provide evidence that he/she is financially dependent on the parent.
ParentIf a parent wishes to join his child who is a resident of New Zealand can apply for residence visa. The resident must also provide proof that he/she is an eligible sponsor. The annual residence program of New Zealand government allows residents to bring their parents to live with their family members.
Parent Retirement CategoryAn adult New Zealand citizen or resident is allowed to bring the parent(s) for investment purposes under parent retirement category. The applicant must have at least NZ$ 1 million to invest for a period of four years. The applicant must have an annual income of NZ$ 60,000 and NZ$ 0.5 million for settlement purposes.
Brother, Sister or Adult ChildPermanent resident or citizen of New Zealand can apply for visa for his brother, sister or adult child. This type of visa application processing usually takes 18 to 24 month. The resident must fulfill the condition of eligible sponsorship.
Family Temporary EntryThe family persons on a temporary visit to their family member who is a permanent resident or a citizen of New Zealand can apply for a temporary visa under this category. The applicant can visit, work or study in New Zealand on temporary basis.
